The beautiful countryside of Norfolk has long had a reputation as a great place to take the family or your partner. From the Broads on the North Coast down to the border with Suffolk, Norfolk is well equipped with plenty to do for all kinds of tastes. There are quaint market towns that will keep you captivated or there is the more familiar type of excursions that you would expect from a place geared towards tourists. Holidays in Norfolk offer great opportunities for the day tripper as well as people who intend to spend longer periods such as their summer holidays.

For day trips there are many places that are perfect for young families and you will not be left wondering what to do. The Pettit’s Animal Adventure Park in Reedham is somewhere that has lots of distractions to keep little ones busy all day long. For a very reasonable price there are lots of fairground type rides as well as an adventure playground. The fun doesn’t stop there though as the children can familiarise themselves with the animals at the petting area or even watch one of the live shows.

Not to be missed is the fantasy land of BeWilderwood which is only accessible by boat through the untouched marshland. The adventure park is designed to take children and adults high up in to the trees and where they can walk across rope bridges and across ‘invisible glass’ floors as well as travel down zip lines. You can also hire bicycles from the car park entrance and there are plenty of places to eat too.

If you would prefer to take in the sights during your time in Norfolk, there are some great historic buildings that have to be seen. Tower Tours at Cathedral Church of St John the Baptist are a must as this Gothic building is a very impressive sight. Also full of history is the Dragon Hall in Norwich which has seen many changes take place around it over the last 600 plus years. There is an audio tour which will give you plenty of information about its history. Or you could visit the Somerleyton Hall and gardens in Lowestoft which is an incredible stately home which has public access to its rooms. The gardens also are also home to a hedge maze that is over 150 years old.

Holidays in Norfolk have so much more to offer but the best way to find out is to actually visit the area and take a look around. There’s much more than the average tourist area to keep you interested and it would need more than a couple of weeks to know the area.
